Photos from a demonstration held Friday 9, 2009, in the capital of Paraguay, Asunción, can be found at muzi.com. The demonstration was attended by members of Movimiento Popular Tekojojá (MPT), the Paraguayan Communist Party, Humanist Party, Popular Socialist Convergence Party, Paraguayan-Arab Cultural Association and Islamic Centre of Paraguay, amongst others. One of the slogans at the protest, which took place in front of Panteón Nacional de los Héroes was "Stop the genocide against the Palestinian people. Out with the Israeli army".
A communique issued by the protesting organization was ended with the call "We demand an end to the siege on the Gaza strip, that Israel's cowardly invasion against the Palestinian people is ended." The organizations also decided to continue protests.
