Thailand: Joint protests against the Israeli atrocities

In January 6, 2009, a series of Christian, Muslim, student, progressive and civil society organizations in Thailand issued a joint statement condemning the Israeli genocidial policies against the people of Gaza. Protests demonstrations have also been held outside the U.N. office in Bangkok.

Barbaric Atrocities Committed by the Zionist Regime Against Palestine

Reference is made to the opening of the deadly offensive against the Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Air bombing attacks against the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza since 26 December and the sending of hundreds of tanks to encircle Gaza City to destroy all public facilities e.g. water and electricity services have claimed nearly 600 lives and injured thousands of others. All the victims are merely ordinary villagers who have been living peacefully in the Land of Palestine.

In this connection, the Organization of Islamic Conference, League of Arab Nations, and Middle East countries have condemned the barbaric air strikes against Palestinian civilians and labeled the Israeli government as war criminal. Meanwhile, European Union has described the Israeli destructive and barbaric violence as the act completely devoid of the sense of humanity. Unfortunately, the call from the world community for the UN Security Council to enforce an immediate ceasefire was vetoed by the United States.

We strongly condemn the inhumane crime committed by Israel in this regard.

We condemn the United States of America under the leadership of George W. Bush for having used its veto right in this connection.

We call on the Israeli government to immediate halt the massacre of the Palestinian people.

We call for the intervention by the world community and UN Security Council to put an immediate end to the Israeli aggression by sending international force to stop the ongoing fighting.

We call on Thailand to impose pressure on the Israeli government to force it to stop its aggression against Palestine.

We call on the United Nations, which has been making serious efforts to tackle Middle East peace problem for the past 60 years since the establishment of the state of Israel on the land of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, to organize negotiations to materialize the establishment of the State of Palestine in conformity with UN Security Council Resolution 181.

แถลงการณ์ ฉบับที่ 3

ความโหดเหี้ยมของขบวนการไซออนิสต์ที่กระทำการสังหารหมู่ชาวปาเลสไตน์

จากกรณีที่รัฐบาลอิสราเอลภายใต้การบงการของขบวนการไซออนิสต์ ได้เปิดฉากโจมตีไล่ล่าฆ่ากลุ่มฮามาสบริเวณฉนวนกาซาในปาเลสไตน์ ด้วยการใช้กองกำลังทางอากาศยิงถล่มใส่ชาวปาเลสไตน์ตั้งแต่วันที่ 26 ธันวาคมเป็นต้นมา และอิสราเอลได้ใช้กองกำลังรถถังกว่าร้อยคันบุกล้อมเมืองกาซา และถล่มอาคารบ้านเรือน ทำลายสาธารณูปโภค น้ำประปา ไฟฟ้า ระบบสื่อสาร พังพินาศ ยังผลให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตล่าสุดไม่น้อยกว่า 600 ราย และมีผู้บาดเจ็บมากกว่าสองพันคน โดยส่วนมากเป็นชาวบ้านธรรมดาที่อยู่อาศัยอย่างสงบในดินแดนปาเลสไตน์

ในเรื่องนี้ ทั้งสันนิบาตอาหรับประเทศต่างๆในตะวันออกกลาง และองค์การที่ประชุมอิสลาม(OIC) ประณามการปฏิบัติการอันโหดเหี้ยมครั้งนี้ของอิสราเอลว่าเป็นอาชญากรสงคราม รวมทั้งสหภาพยุโรประบุชัดเจนว่าการโจมตีของอิสราเอลทำให้เกิดความสูญเสียอย่างมาก ถือเป็นการขาดมนุษยธรรมโดยสิ้นเชิง และเสียงเรียกร้องจากประชาคมโลกให้คณะมนตรีความมั่นคง องค์กรสหประชาชาติเข้ายุติการหยุดยิงต้องล้มเหลว เพราะสหรัฐอเมริกาคัดค้านให้มีการหยุดยิงเพื่อเจรจาสันติภาพ

เราขอประณามอย่างรุนแรงต่อการกระทำอย่างไร้มนุษยธรรมของอิสราเอลในครั้งนี้

เราขอเรียกร้องให้อิสราเอลยุติการสังหารหมู่อย่างป่าเถื่อนต่อชาวปาเลสไตน์โดยทันที

เราขอประณามสหรัฐอเมริกาโดยการนำของ นายบุช ที่กระหายต่อสงครามที่คัดค้านมติของคณะมนตรีความมั่นคง องค์การสหประชาชาติ หลายครั้งที่ผ่านมา

เราขอเรียกร้องให้ประชาคมโลก คณะมนตรีความมั่นคงแห่งสหประชาชาติเข้ายุติการกระทำของอิสราเอลโดยทันที โดยการส่งกองกำลังนานาชาติเข้ายุติสงครามของทั้งสองฝ่าย

เราขอเรียกร้องให้ประเทศไทยกดดันให้อิสราเอลยุติการโจมตีถิ่นฐานของปาเลสไตน์โดยทันที

เราขอเรียกร้องให้องค์การสหประชาชาติดำเนินการแก้ไขปัญหาสันติภาพที่เกิดมาแล้ว 60 ปี ในการตั้งรัฐอิสราเอลบนแผ่นดินของชาวปาเลสไตน์ ด้วยการเจรจาและยึดมติการจัดตั้งปาเลสไตน์ตามมติที่ 181 ของสหประชาชาติอย่างจริงจัง

เราขอให้ประชาชนชาวไทยและประชาคมโลกร่วมกันภาวนาให้แก่ชาวปาเลสไตน์ที่ต่อสู้ดิ้นรน เพื่อความยุติธรรม เพื่อความสันติสุข และปลดปล่อยแผ่นดินปาเลสไตน์จากการยึดครองจากอิสราเอลในครั้งนี้ด้วย
